In the next 4 or 5 posts I am going to write on what and how to activate faith with the Word of God and how you need the word of God to have faith.
Word of God was and is God!
If you want to know God and His will for your life, all you have a do is get into the Bible (the Word of God) and meditate on it.
It says in John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
So if the Word was God then it should still be God now. Which means when you read the Bible a.k.a. the Word of God, you are reading about God and EVERYTHING you need to know about the will of God is in the Word of God and his promises can be applied into your life. When Jesus says in the garden of Gethsemane in Mathew 27:39 and 42 “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” This came directly out of the Word of God in Isaiah 53, He knew that it was God’s will because the Word says so. Read below.
Isaiah 53:2-9…For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
Isaiah 53 goes into great detail of what He would have to endure. So I understand why He says “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
So if you want to know God and His will for your life, get into His word. His will is written for you to read and learn. There is no guess work, it’s all there in His Word.
