Who Is Writing The Story Upon Your Heart?

2014-04-11_1824

So from the moment I heard this song on the radio, I want to write about it.

Who is writing the story upon your heart?

I know God is Good and that he want us all to reach our God Given Dreams, I know God has given us each a task or dream to live out,  but as Terri Savelle Foy put it there is God’s Plan, Satan’s Plan, Your Plan. Which will one will you let write out your story. It is your choice! God give us a free will.

I choose Gods Plan, Story, Blessing …

This is my favourite part of the song.

I want my history
To be Your legacy
Go ahead and show this world
What You’ve done in me
And when the music fades
I want my life to say…

What do want your history to be? I certainly I do not want mine to be “She sat on the couch and did nothing” or “she did even try to become her potential.”

Take a couple of minutes and listen to this song. I hope it blesses you like it blessed me! ~Mandie

Write Your Story

by Francesca Battistelli Lyrics

“Write Your Story”

They say You’re the King of everything The One who taught the wind to sing The Source of the rhythm my heart keeps beatingThey say You can give the blind their sight And You can bring the dead to life You can be the hope my soul’s been seekin’I wanna tell You now that I believe it I wanna tell You now that I believe it I do, that You can make me new, ohI’m an empty page
I’m an open book
Write Your story on my heart
Come on and make Your mark

Author of my hope
Maker of the stars
Let me be Your work of art
Won’t You write Your story on my heart

Write Your story, write Your story
Come on and write Your story, write Your story
Won’t You write Your story on my heart

My life
I know it’s never really been mine
So do with it whatever You like
I don’t know what Your plan is
But I know it’s good, yeah

I wanna tell You now that I believe in
I wanna tell You now that I believe in
In You, so do what You do, oh

I’m an empty page
I’m an open book
Write Your story on my heart
Come on and make Your mark

Author of my hope
Maker of the stars
Let me be Your work of art
Won’t You write Your story on my heart

Write Your story, write Your story
Come on and write Your story, write Your story
Won’t You write Your story on my heart

I want my history
To be Your legacy
Go ahead and show this world
What You’ve done in me
And when the music fades
I want my life to say

I let You write Your story, write Your story
Write Your story, write Your story

I’m an empty page
I’m an open book
Write Your story on my heart
Come on and make Your mark

Author of my hope
Maker of the stars
Let me be Your work of art
Won’t You write Your story on my heart

Write Your story, write Your story
Come on and write Your story, write Your story
Won’t You write Your story on my heart

Cast Your Cares, Give it to God!

You will notice that we have gone to doing more video blogging (vloging) in the past couple of months.

So here is another video I just did. Take a couple of minutes and listen. I hope it encourages and blesses you.

Philippians 4:6-7 (AMP)

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ([a]definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

And God’s peace [shall be yours, that [b]tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall [c]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

How do you cast your care upon the Lord? Let us know in the comments.

Be Still

What does it mean to “Be Still”?

Psalm 46:10 (NLT)

“Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”

Be Still

Psalm 62:1-2 and 5-7(AMP)

1 For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation.  He only is my Rock and my Salvation, my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be greatly moved…  My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him.  He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.  With God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God!

God in your storm Pt 2

What Are You Focusing On?

Finally, the second half of “God in your storm” . The video in this post is part 2 of a video series I did in January. I hope it blesses you!

Below is the passage of scripture being talked about in the video. Read, think on it, mediate on it… Ask yourself question like… What are the things Peter did that were good? Just as the wind distracted Peter from Jesus, what are you focus on? Jesus,  the problems or the storms?

Matthew 14:22-31 AMP Then He directed the disciples to get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent away the crowds. And after He had dismissed the multitudes, He went up into the hills by Himself to pray. When it was evening, He was still there alone. But the boat was by this time out on the sea, many furlongs [a furlong is one-eighth of a mile] distant from the land, beaten and tossed by the waves, for the wind was against them. And in the fourth watch [between 3:00–6:00 a.m.] of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said, It is a ghost! And they screamed out with fright. But instantly He spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I AM! Stop being afraid! [Exod. 3:14.] And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus. But when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me [from death]! Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and caught and held him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

God In Your Storm – Pt 1

Where is God in your storms?

Is He right beside you or do you have to get Him off the shelf ? Please enjoy the video below as I talk about where God is in the storm.

Reborn!

Exhausted angel

Exhausted angel

There are days we may feel tired from the fight, worn out.  Somedays we might even wonder if God is there at all.  If you’ve been there, you’re not alone.  These are the “character building” moments of our lives–do we continue to follow the straight and narrow path or do we give up and wander to the easy way?

Let me encourage you to trust God;  He is here with us even if we don’t feel Him.  He is waiting for us so that He can show us that “a song can rise from the ashes of a broken life and all that’s dead inside can be reborn.”  Hold fast, friend!

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.  2 Corinthians 4:7 – 9 NIV

God Loves you right where you are!

God Loves you right where you are!

God's Love

John 1:48(AMP) Nathanael said to Jesus, How do You know me? [How is it that You know these things about me?] Jesus answered him, Before [ever] Philip called you, when you were still under the fig tree, I saw you.

Healing Broken Hearts

“Peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ.” ― Sheila Walsh

No matter where we are in our lives God wants us to choose Him to be a part of our lives. He never leaves us nor forsakes us but we often choose to set Him on a shelf . Whether it is because we feel unworthy, shameful or guilty about the things we have done, God wants us to come to Him.

Satan wants you to stay right where you are. Satan wants you to feel guilty and shameful.

God / Jesus wants you to forgive yourself  because if you have repented of your sins He forgets them, whites them out and remembers them not.

Please take a couple of minutes to watch this short video below and start grasping on to the truth that God Loves You Where You are at Right Now!

Sheila Walsh has always been one of my favourite singers. I hope you enjoy.

You Raise Me Up Lyrics

Artist: Sheila Walsh
Album: Let Go

When I am down and oh, my soul so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then I am still and wait here in the silence
Until You come and sit awhile with me

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be

There is no life, no life without its hunger
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly
But when You come and I am filled with wonder
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
(You raise me up, I can stand on mountains)
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
(Walk on stormy seas)

And I am strong when I am on Your shoulders
Oh, you raise me up to more than I can be
You raise me up to more than I can be

Love you all,

Mandie

Mandie:

This is a post Mary did on her other blog I thought should be reblogged on to Little Black Dress.

I keeping getting the message in all the stuff I have been reading that I (we) need to rely on God for everything and He will see us through.

Thank you Mary.

Well, I am finally back from my busy Christmas season…finally…  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, remembering God’s great works in your life in the past and anticipating with wonder His great works in your future!Scrooge

Past and future are both important to us as Christians.  At church on Sunday we talked about “Ebenezers” (and no, not the Scrooge kind!).  An Ebenezer is something that you “put up” to remind you of a difficult time that God helped you through.  Like the stone alters that the Israelites put up in the Old Testement to help them remember God’s grace in bringing them into the promised land.  I think it is important to have something that we can look to when we ‘walk through the valley of the shadow of death’ to remind us of all the times God has helped us before and therefore to give us hope in…
